Do printers grow on trees?

Well, ok, they don't quite grow on trees. But free printers are available right now, for a limited time only.

Imagine these two very likely scenarios. You're working in a busy office. There's a buzz because everyone is getting on with work and the firm's numerous printers are going none stop because a big job has to go out. Suddenly one of the printers stops working. It's an old printer anyway and everyone knew that it should have been replaced at least six months ago, but no-one got around to it. Someone calls the repair company, but it's at least two weeks wait for someone to come out and repair it. What do you do?

Scenario number two is that the school your child goes to is badly in need of a printer to replace one of their old machines. It's not made public knowledge to you as a parent because the school doesn't want people to know that it's struggling a little financially. But you find out about the situation and you want to help. What do you do?

There's a simple answer to both of the above scenarios and that's to get your firm and your child's school to call us. For a very limited time only, we're given one free printer to any school or business that wants one.

And it literally is free – the firm or school won't even have to pay for cartridges or for it to be repaired. In fact, we'll monitor the printer to make sure it's ok continuously and if it needs repairing or it needs a new cartridge, we'll be on the phone to get it sorted out.

All the school or firm has to pay for is the print copies at 1p for black and white copies and 6p for colour. We've worked it out and believe me, that's far, far cheaper than it would be paying directly for the cartridges and for a repair contract.

Sound good? Well hopefully at this point, you're not thinking that it sounds a little bit too good to be true, but if you are, we'll be upfront about what we want in return.

In exchange for giving your office or your child's school a free printer, we do want a meeting with the decision maker so we can talk to them about their print needs. Hopefully that's fair enough. It's a free of charge meeting and if the answer is no, you don't want to change from your current supplier or you're tied into a contract, that's fine.

We also would like the permission to install a little bit of software on their computers to monitor print spend. This software doesn't look at anything else – it just monitors the printers, but it will tell us (and your office or school) whether we can save them money. And then, if we can, we'll try and do just that.

I hope you'll agree with me that the meeting and the software are a good swap for receiving a free printer.

So, if you think your office or your child's school would be interested in receiving a printer, entirely for free, take down our number and ask them to give us a call on 0844 848 6444 or email us on enquiries@e-sol.co.uk.

We've got a stock of printers that we'd love to give away. It's first come, first served so if you think someone you know would like one, get in touch now.

Going back to the title of this article – maybe free printers really do grow on trees!

Why Copiers Don't Call for Help!

Isn't it frustrating?! Just when you have an important document to print out you find your printer is on the blink. It could well have been sitting there for a while not working properly but of course it's only when you need something urgent do you find out the bad news. Most reliable printers are used to high volume use and even a bit of general misuse such as the wrong or miss feeding paper, but sometimes even they have their bad days. So why in today's world can't they tell us something is wrong so we can do sort it out before that important deadline looms?

Most copiers and printers these days are sophisticated enough to alert you when it has a paper jam or needs toner replacing etc. High volume copiers are designed to deliver large volumes of copies quickly and easily to their office workers and the good ones are made to be robust and fairly self-sufficient. However, over the past 10 years the cost of desktop printers has decreased and many businesses switched to these instead. Any problems were then sorted by the individual themselves or the IT department. Thus the demand for more advanced, pricier copiers has taken a bit of a back seat. However, with more and more businesses interested in saving money and cutting down on printer cartridge costs, paper wastage and the green factor, the focus has once again switched back to the office copier.

Organisations who invest in a high volume copier for the office will usually put someone in charge of the machine to deal with any problems or when the toner needs changing. However, times are changing, and with the emphasis on multi-tasking and speed and simplicity businesses have started to expect more from their copiers. If it can't be fixed easily and quickly it starts to impact on their time and that means money. When this happens, it's usually because of a mechanical problem (whether caused by misuse or malfunction) and this is when time is of the utmost importance.

Now as yet, I don't know of any machine( aside from Wall-E) that can open itself up and fix its own moving parts, but you might want to consider the Remote-Sol solution that comes in a close second. Remote-Sol allows you to take control of all your Canon devices and will alert us when an error occurs so we can quickly respond to the call. It also takes the burden out of toner management by keeping us informed of stock levels, usage and even meter readings! So maybe some copiers can call for help after all!
